Cookie Policy

1. Strictly Necessary Cookies Only
Homie uses only strictly necessary cookies:
- Session cookies
- Authentication cookies (family code session, admin Google login)
- CSRF protection cookies
These cookies do not track you across sites. Under the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act (E-Com Act, Jan 2025 update) and Datatilsynet's April 2025 guidance, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent.
2. Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics in cookieless mode. Plausible is EU-hosted.
Plausible:
- Does not set cookies
- Does not store personal data
- Does not track users across sites
Plausible runs without cookies, so it needs no consent. Marketing cookies (below) are a different story — those we always ask about first.
3. Marketing Cookies — Only If You Say Yes
We run a few ads to help more families find Homie, and we’d like to know whether they work. If you tap “That’s fine” on our cookie banner, Meta’s pixel sets two cookies (_fbp and _fbc) that tell us things like “this signup came from that ad”.
If you consent, Meta receives:
- Event names (like “visited the site” or “signed up”)
- A scrambled (hashed) version of your email that can’t be read back
- An anonymous browser ID and your IP address
Meta never receives:
- Your name, plain-text email, or anything about your family members
- Your calendars, tasks, routines, or anything you do inside Homie
If you don’t consent — or just ignore the banner — none of this happens. Your consent lasts 12 months, then we ask again.
4. Managing Cookies
Changed your mind? Use the “Manage cookies” button at the top of this page, the Cookies link in the footer, or (in the app) Settings → Marketing cookies.
You can also remove or block cookies via your browser settings.
